YukonDocs is a part of the Yukon Medical Association (YMA) and was created in December 2021 to combat the Physician and Locum recruitment challenges the Yukon Territory is facing. YukonDocs role is to market both short-term and permanent opportunities across the Yukon to prospective Family Physicians and Specialties.
The program is funded through the YMA and contracts one full-time recruiter. The recruiter reports to the CEO of the YMA and works in conjunction with the YMA Fund Manager.
YukonDocs offers a one-stop shop for both locums and physicians who are looking for employment in the Yukon. Services we provide include:
- Providing a central point of contact for locums to find work and our YMA members to find practice coverage.
- Facitlitating the matching of schedules and practice preferences to that of our YMA members who practice in the Yukon.
- Assisting with resources such as contract templates, an orientation checklist, and list of resources for new physicians.
- Managing an up-to-date database and job board of locum opportunities to assist YMA members in securing locum support.
Through building community partnerships, understanding physician’s needs, and the ongoing trends in recruitment, YukonDocs supports the YMA in their role to work as advocates for its members, promote the highest level of professionalism in medical practice and promote accessible quality health care for Yukoners.
