GP/Oncology Locum Needed

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in general practice with specialized training and experience in oncology. As a GP Oncologist, you will play a key role in providing personalized care to patients with cancer, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and participating in the development and implementation of innovative treatment plans.

Clinic Hours:

  • Monday-Thursday - seeing 5-10 patients per day
  • Remunerated by an hourly rate of $256.87/hour

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting thorough assessments and evaluations of patients with suspected or diagnosed cancer.
  • Developing comprehensive treatment plans tailored to the individual needs of patients, considering factors such as diagnosis, stage of cancer, and patient preferences.
  • Providing ongoing monitoring, follow-up care, and support to patients undergoing cancer treatment.
  • Collaborating closely with oncologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and integrated care.
  • Educating patients and their families about treatment options, and supportive care services.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified as a GPO in Canada and eligible to obtain licensure in the Yukon Territory.
  • Ideally famailliar with BCCA systems
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
  • Commitment to providing patient-centered care with empathy and compassion.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.
