We are seeking a Locum GPA to join our dynamic team in Whitehorse, Yukon from Nov 3-14, 2025.

This role offers a mix of anesthesia, family practice, and inpatient coverage, with flexibility based on your expertise and preferences.

Practice Overview:

  • Anesthesia Services: Covering OR, L&D, ER, ICU, and sedations.
  • Local Surgical Specialties: General surgery, orthopedics (including joint replacements), obstetrics & gynecology, and dentistry.
  • Visiting Specialties: ENT, ophthalmology, gastroenterology.
  • Equipment: Dräger Perseus anesthesia machines.
  • Pediatrics: Dental cases for children as young as 3 years old.

Work Structure:

  • Anesthesia: Typically 2-3 days per week, including OR, L&D, and consults.
  • Family Practice: Around 500 patients, no walk-in or hospital care, some long-term care patients.

Call Schedule:

  • 24-hour weekday call; 72-hour weekend call.
  • Responsibilities include OR, OB epidurals, ER sedations, and ICU coverage.
  • Call volume varies from light to busy.

Team & Environment:

  • Current Team: 7 anesthesia providers (5 GPAs).
  • OR Schedule: 2-3 rooms running daily, including endoscopy.
  • Pre-op Clinic: Operates 4 mornings per week.
  • Compensation: Fee-for-service model.

  • Someone adaptable to varied call volumes and comfortable working in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team.
