GP/OB 3 week summer locum
August 1-15, 2023
Seeking GP/OB Coverage
Practice involves 4 to 5 half days per week in a well-established family medicine clinic and 4-5 half days (with the occasional weekend) in OB. The spectrum of medicine is broad with a nice balance of general family practice, procedures and counselling.
The patients in the practice come from all walks of life, with a demographic including families, children, and seniors/elders.
Doing a locum could involve just clinic duties or expanded roles as below:
- OB-I am part of a collegial group of docs providing antenatal and obstetrical inpatient care—being part of this group is an asset but not required for the practice.
- INPATIENTS--It is also optional to cover some hospital inpatients as part of a call group with low volume patient load.
- RURAL--Twice per month I do an out of town clinic at one of the outlying Yukon communities.
- Multi-Disciplinary Options--All Yukon doctors can refer to the Chronic Disease Management Team of Allied Health Professionals (RN, Pharmacist etc ) which is off site from our clinic, for their patients to access extra counselling and at- home chronic disease monitoring.
The practice is located in Whitehorse Medical Services Clinic, which is also the home to Solstice Maternity.
