What drew you to practice medicine in the Yukon?

I initially intended to go study high altitude medicine in Italy right after my studies at McGill university in 2012. However, some issues with visas were coming up and I needed a plan B without the need for a visa. I therefore decided to go as far as I could in Canada -- and on the map, that's the Yukon!

What do you love most about working here?

I love the flexibility I have to practice sports medicine, which is not as simple in other parts of Canada. I also love the great quality of life we have, and the easy access to outdoors when we need to let the energy out!

How do you like to unwind after a long shift?

I love to go outside! Either for a ski, a walk, a run, or just to play outside with my kids. I also love cooking, reading and seeing friends.

What is your favourite trail, view point or camping spot in YT? (Mountain biking trail, hiking trail, skiing trail etc.)

My latest discovery is not technically in the Yukon, but appears on the Yukon Hiking website (so it counts, right?!). It is the international falls hike in the White pass. It is so stunning! We just hiked it during blueberry season last summer and had a cold water dip in one of the "pools". It was simply magic!

How would your best friend describe you in 3 words?

Energetic, warm, authentic

Dr Marc Gosselin for his daring and passionate approach to life, Dr Rangan Chatterjee for his vulnerability and curiosity, Dr Paul Farmer for his dedication, Alexandre Lagger my friend for his never ending expedition ideas, Brené Brown for her writing, my husband for being so patient, and my kids for their wonderful perspective on life.
