Orthopaedic Surgeon

Seeking Locum Orthopaedic Surgeon

Dates: Immediate need from January 2025-onward

The Surgical Clinic in Whitehorse is seeking locums available to work in Whitehorse, Yukon. Come explore Canada’s North in wilderness city, while gaining experience in the diverse scope of a community hospital.

Ideal candidates are comfortable with primary hip and knee arthroplasty, as well as basic arthroscopy and general orthopaedic trauma (including hand). Sports fellowship training is also preferable. 

You can expect:

  • to be working in a shared orthopaedic group practice with two local surgeon taking on two-week (12 day) blocks of work.
  • Two week blocks include:
    • The first week is on call, while the second includes elective OR and office coverage.
  • We are open to different surgeons covering each block and have multiple dates available for coverage. 

Remuneration

  • We offer a competitive guaranteed minimum daily rate plus call stipends.
  • Funding for travel, accommodations, CMPA and licensing available.
  • Overhead support is available.

Qualifications:

  • Must be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada

Duties include:

  • Shared group practice with 2 week b locks of clinical duties
  • Call week (7 days) includes OR assists, cast clinic, office and trauma OR
  • Clinical weeks (5 days) includes elective OR, cast clinic, and office coverage for follow-ups and new consults
